What is a day pillar?

Saju represents the year, month, day and hour of birth with two symbols each. The day pair is called the day pillar. In this tradition, its stem represents the self and its branch adds an inner layer.

There are 60 day pillars in a repeating cycle. Lodestar turns the ten stems into images such as trees, sunlight and candles, and the twelve branches into seasons and animals, creating 60 Hamzzi characters.
